What we can do for you
Why Write For Us
You should always carefully consider where you are submitting your work, no matter how cool the submission theme might be. While we cannot promise you fame and fortune, we do wish to humbly present these few benefits.
- Interview opportunities on the Write Talk Wednesday podcast, our Epona Muse Publishing News show, and on our blog.
- We never charge any fees or expect any financial support from the author. We do hope authors will promote the anthology where their work appears, but we never demand or force it.
- Your work will be carefully edited with your input. We endeavor to not make any changes without your permission, except maybe fixing a typo.
FAQ
Do I need to be a professional author to participate?
No, you don’t need to be a professional author to participate. All authors are welcome.
If my essay is accepted, what will you expect from me?
As long as you provide a W-9 or W-8BEN, and contact information so we can reach out to you if necessary and pay you, then that is all that is technically required. We would hope that you’d timely respond to any requests. We will ask for a bio, a quote about your writing, and a photo if you want to include one for our website.
However, part of being an author in today’s publishing environment is also promoting your books. A rising tide lifts all boats, and if every participating author in the anthology shares the book regularly on social media, newsletters, and/or streaming channels, then that will hopefully boost sales and your author income.
Do I need to have social media/streaming channel/newsletter to participate?
No, you don’t need these things. For some writing these essays is a hobby, a way to share their experiences and help others. For other participants, they are professional authors, and they have an author platform from which to share about their works. We won’t turn anyone away for lack of a platform, and we don’t require one for submission of essays or acceptance.
(for nonfiction neurodivergent-focused anthologies) Do you accept submissions from self-diagnosed authors?
YES! We do accept submissions from self-diagnosed authors. Especially in the US, it can be expensive, and in some areas virtually impossible, to receive an autism or ADHD diagnosis. Many clinicians will only diagnose those they saw as children, which makes it very difficult if you’re an adult and realize you’re autistic. We do not ask for proof of diagnosis, nor do we gatekeep in this manner.
(for nonfiction neurodivergent-focused anthologies) Do I have to submit proof of my diagnosis to be published with you?
No. You do not need to submit any medical information or any proof of diagnosis to submit an essay. All submissions are welcome from those who meet the criteria, and we believe self-diagnosis (self-dx) is valid.
